Earnings
Almost all Driving Instructors are self-employed, even the ones you see in BSM or AA Driving School cars. Some Instructors work with medium or large, local or national, independent schools. In each of these situations they are usually working on a Franchise basis.
Most Driving Instructors however prefer to run their own ‘one person’ business. It really is an easy business to run and our ‘business course’ with give you lots of tips and advice to help you on your way. Remember that most of your business is repeat business as your pupils take lessons week after week until they pass their test. Once established, your business should only need to attract approximately 6 new clients per month which often come from recommendations.
Like any thing else in life, there are plusses and minuses of each situation, a lot of instructors start out with a franchise and then eventually go it alone, the choice is yours!
